Contents: fractional-title page; notice of the Naturalist's Depository library by Prof Rennie; adverts for North American Ornithology (pages 1 through with 6); frontispiece African-American and White River portrayal of Linnaeus; reach flame-colored vignette title pageboy; one further title foliate; contents listing (pages i through iii); advertisement ; Memoir of Linnaeus; and text with black and white illustrations and 34 hired man coloured plates - 147 pages in all. Both have been rebacked preserving the avant-garde spine. Vol I has slight bubbling to the cloth; a bump to the rear bottom tree; a teentsy lighter spot on the front man board and attenuation to edges and acantha. Vol II has some wear and bumping to corners; the front board has mottling and some fading to edges. The original green endpapers are present in both volumes with repair. Vol I: frontispiece print portrait of 'Linnaeus in his Lapland Dress'; helping hand coloured vignette title pageboy; 2 further title pages dated 1834 (a class afterwards the first printing); publisher's advert; table of contents listing; Memoir of Carl von Linne; and text with black and white illustrations and 34 hand gingery plates bound at the rear; 23pp publisher's catalogue. Hum birds Vol I was the first volume issued in the Natural scientist's Library, and this re-create of Vol I has a 'Notice of the Natural scientist's Subroutine library' by Professor Rennie extolling the virtues of the new series, fashioning it a first issue. Some volumes are in their original state with the publisher's (in real time brown) cloth dressing with gilt titles to spine, and green endpapers with the Naturalists' Library water line to the front endpaper. Both volumes birth or s fading to the spine and edges, and light-colored pulling to the spine. Corners light bumped. Vol I has a couple of small idents to the side of the boards. Vol I has an armorial bookplate of Sir William Henry Jardine (1766-1851, correlate Sir William Jardine) to the front pastedown.
